I recently felt this way. My approach on my blog led me to a feeling that I had failed at protecting Jews from Antisemitism. I cried a bit, but then I felt this sense that I am not going down, but will start something new and was quickly figuring my new life. It takes a lot of resilience to channel a moment of heavy grief and perceived failure into an immediate spark for a new chapter. Moving from the weight of crying over something you cared about deeply straight into the clear-headed determination that you are not going down is exactly what that fighter mentality is about. When you pour yourself into an intense battle—like trying to shift public narratives or protect a community online—the emotional toll can hit all at once. Stepping away or closing one door isn't a defeat; it’s often the necessary friction that forces you to pivot, reinvent, and figure out your next move with a completely fresh perspective.
