AI Overview A political football is a controversial issue or problem that opposing political parties argue about and toss back and forth for their own tactical advantage rather than trying to solve it constructively-to-a-controversial-issue-that-politicians-use! Meaning and Characteristics: Partisan Advantage: Politicians use the topic to attack rivals or score public support rather than seeking a real solution.
