The Trump administration is warning that the Kennedy Center could ultimately be demolished if a court blocks its planned renovation and restoration. In a court filing, DOJ attorneys described the building as “structurally unsound, fundamentally unsafe, and embarrassing to the Nation’s Capital,” arguing that extensive repairs are necessary. The administration said demolition and replacement with an outdoor amphitheater could become an alternative if it is prevented from moving forward with the renovation.
