Arsenal’s best chance at getting big money for Gabriel Martinelli has just presented itself. Gabriel Martinelli’s Arsenal future remains up in the air. He has been linked with an exit all summer and his omission from the matchday squad in the Community Shield win over Man City has fuelled the fire. Several clubs are keen on the Brazilian but none have met Arsenal’s valuation. Martinelli has turned down a move to Turkey. If the latest rumoured interest is true, Arsenal should push hard for a deal. Qatari interest is just what Arsenal needed. The club must get good money for its players. If Martinelli leaves this summer, he must bring a substantial fee. Reports from the Middle East say Qatar’s Al-Sadd are keen and could pay around £50m. That is the sum Andrea Berta seeks and Arsenal fans expect. At £50m he would become Arsenal’s most expensive sale, still held by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. If Arsenal are serious about selling and replacing him, they should engage the Qataris for the big money the club deserves.
