So the truth about time really is weird. The way people have messed with time is by stopping it for a moment which throws the whole universe off a bit. We as individuals are connected and are apart of many things, including everything.

A common experience is when technology and culture change and there is a huge mystery that follows. You can explore this yourself. Find the causal relations between changes and come out with your hands empty. That is because time travel is not so abnormal as we assume.

So the idea that time is a stable constant is false. It is very fragile and can bend and warp with out us being aware of it.

In my theory time travel can happen at any moment, but most often while you are asleep. When you wake you could find that some people are missing and other things that were not there are somehow there. This is due to actual time travel.

So what is it about time travel anyway?

What is a mid-transition civilization? A mid-transition civilization is one that has already left its previous stable operating system but has not yet reached a new one.For humans, the previous system was industrial: fossil energy, nation-states, mass media, hierarchical firms, and risk models built around wars, recessions, and famines. The destination—if there is one—looks something like abundant energy, machine intelligence that outpaces human cognition in most domains, cheap coordination at planetary scale, and the ability to operate off-Earth. We are not there. We are in the stretch where the new capabilities are arriving faster than the old institutions, incentives, and mental models can absorb them.The mismatch shows up in a few recurring ways:Capability vs. governance. Energy density, compute, and information flow keep compounding. Laws, treaties, and bureaucracies still mostly assume 20th-century constraints. The result is lag: powerful tools exist before anyone has a stable way to allocate, constrain, or even measure their effects. Coordination vs. status. Global networks make it cheap to share knowledge and organize at scale. They also make it cheap to optimize for attention, tribal signaling, and short-term relative rank. The same infrastructure that could solve coordination problems often amplifies them. Speed vs. risk models. New technologies (AI systems, biotech, energy infrastructure) change the distribution of possible outcomes faster than societies update their sense of what “normal risk” looks like. Old playbooks—deterrence, regulation after the fact, insurance—were designed for slower, more localized shocks. “Mid-transition” is therefore not a prediction that everything ends well or badly. It is a description of a period in which the rate of technical change exceeds the rate at which culture, law, and collective decision-making adapt. Civilizations that survive such periods usually do so by building new institutions that can keep up, not by pretending the old ones still fit. Most of the interesting arguments right now are about which of those new institutions are actually forming and which are still missing.
